India’s industrial production increased more than expected in July, data from the Central Statistics Office revealed Wednesday.
Industrial output grew 6.6 percent in July from a year ago, slightly faster than the expected 6.5 percent expansion. Nonetheless, this was slower than the 6.9 percent increase seen in June.
Electricity output logged an annual growth of 6.7 percent and manufacturing output climbed 7 percent. Meanwhile, mining output expanded only 3.7 percent.
During April to July, industrial production increased 5.4 percent from the same period of last year.
