Italy’s producer price inflation accelerated for the fourth straight month in August, preliminary figures from the statistical office Istat showed Thursday.
Producer prices climbed 4.4 percent year-over-year in August, slightly faster than the 4.3 percent increase in July.
In domestic market, producer prices grew 5.1 percent annually in August and by 2.2 percent in foreign market.
On a monthly basis, producer prices rose at a slower rate of 0.4 percent in August, following a 1.4 percent rise in the preceding month.
Data also showed that the construction producer price index increased 1.8 percent yearly in August, while it showed no variations from last month.
